Well, it looks like Jon Gosselin hasn’t just been sitting around sulking about his troubles. He’s been losing weight, and In Touch Weekly has the exclusive photo: Jon without that infamous gut.

“Jon’s own dad never took care of himself and died at an early age, so Jon is doing whatever he can to ensure he’ll be around for his kids as long as possible,” Jon Gosselin’s friend tells In Touch exclusively.

And maybe, just maybe, it didn’t hurt that losing some weight might help his prospects of returning to reality TV? People can have multiple motivations for doing things

“Jon’s made time for himself,” says a friend of the reality star, who adds that Jon’s kids were his main motivation to get in shape.

The friend told In Touch that Jon’s eating habits deteriorated due to his marital problems with Kate. Now, though, the “beer belly” is gone.

Oh Boy! Jon Gosselin Writing A Tell All Book

Jon Gosselin is busy penning a tell-all book about his life with Kate Gosselin and being a reality star. Radar Online is reporting that the working title is â€œA Slice of Life: Jon Gosselinâ€™s Storyâ€ and the story is being co-written by life-coach Sylvia Lafair.

Ok…

Co-author Lafair, who takes Jon on soul searching missions into the mountains of Pennsylvania at $10,000 a trip, tells RadarOnline.com: â€œThe book is about having eight kids all at once when he was under the age of 30.â€

She says, â€œIt includes some of the lessons that Jon has been learning with helpful hints on how he is working to reframe his relationship with his family including his two brothers and his mother. It also explores how the death of his father affected him.”

Yes, you read that correctly. $10,000 a TRIP. Dude – stop hiking and use that cash to gas up your car so you can drive to a regular 9-5er.

Former ‘Jon and Kate Plus 8′ dad Jon Gosselin kicked off Independence Day weekend with the most all-American past time I can think of: going to the ball game. Here’s Jon, along with girlfriend Ellen Ross and his eight kids, at a Reading Phillies game.

I still feel faint when I think of taking EIGHT kids anywhere! But both Jon and Ellen look calm, even managing to take time to check their cell phones. They must have a system down.

And the kids look like they’re having fun

I don’t know why that sign is there, but you think Jon is hoping we’ll take it to heart when thinking about him?
